The challenge
Fandom moves faster than product roadmaps.
Fan communities do not wait. They organise on whatever platform is nearest, and they leave the moment it stops serving them. Building a destination for that behaviour means designing for intensity: bursts of activity around a release, long quiet stretches between, and a merchandise operation that has to hold up when both happen at once.
What I did
Build the platform around the community's own rhythm, not a generic social template.
The product was designed and developed from the ground up rather than assembled from patterns borrowed elsewhere. In year one it reached over five million registered users, held eighty percent retention, and drove ten million dollars in annual gross merchandise value.
