Who runs this site

lastres.ai is the personal site of Carlos Lastres. It is operated by his company, インターナショナルデザイン合同会社 (International Design LLC), Shinjuku Dai-7 Hayama Bldg 3F, 1-36-2 Shinjuku, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo 160-0022, Japan.

Analytics

I use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages people read and how they found them. It records the pages you view, the site that sent you, your device, browser, screen size and language, and an approximate location. Google works out that location from your IP address. According to Google, Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses.

When analytics cookies are allowed, Google Analytics sets two first party cookies, _ga and _ga_*, which keep a random ID so repeat visits can be counted. They expire after up to two years. Google processes this data for me as a service provider, and it may do so in the United States and other countries.

Cookies and your choice

If your device is set to a European time zone, analytics cookies stay off until you accept them in the banner at the bottom of the page. Until you do, Google Analytics runs in a restricted mode: it sets no cookies and sends Google only basic signals without an ID.

Everywhere else analytics is on by default, and you can switch it off the same way.

Your choice is saved in your browser's local storage, so the banner does not keep asking. You can change it at any time with Cookie settings in the footer of every page, or right here: Cookie settings. Choosing Decline also removes the analytics cookies already set on this site.

This site shows no ads and runs no other trackers. Fonts are served from lastres.ai itself, so your browser does not contact Google Fonts.

The contact form

If you write to me through the contact form, it sends your name, email address, the subject, the kind of work you picked and your message. The form hands them to Resend, an email delivery service, which delivers them to my inboxes on Google Workspace and Gmail. The email also includes the IP address and country the message came from, so I can spot spam. The site itself does not store your message.

I use these details only to reply to you and to follow up on the conversation you started.

Hosting

lastres.ai is hosted on Cloudflare. To deliver pages and protect the site from attacks, Cloudflare processes your IP address, browser details and the pages you request, under its own privacy policy. I keep no server logs of my own.

Some older articles show images hosted on Webflow's content delivery network, and a few embed YouTube videos. When those load, your browser connects to those services and they see your IP address.

Legal basis

For visitors covered by the GDPR or the UK GDPR, analytics cookies rely on your consent. Replying to a message you send relies on your request. Hosting and security rely on my legitimate interest in keeping the site available and safe. For visitors in Japan, this policy also serves as the public notice of purpose required by the Act on the Protection of Personal Information.

How long data is kept

• Google Analytics keeps event data for no more than 14 months, then deletes it automatically.
• Contact form messages stay in my inbox while they are useful for our conversation or any work that follows, and I delete them when you ask.
• Your consent choice stays in your browser until you change it or clear your browser data.
• Cloudflare keeps its logs for the periods set out in its own policy.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the personal data I hold about you, ask me to correct or delete it, object to how it is used, or withdraw your consent at any time. Email [email protected] and I will reply within 30 days.

Analytics data is not linked to your name, so I cannot look it up by email. The quickest way to remove it is to choose Decline in Cookie settings, which clears this site's analytics cookies.

If you are in the EU or the UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority. In Japan, that is the Personal Information Protection Commission.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 16, and I do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you think a child has sent me their details, email me and I will delete them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it.
